The Many Uses

When we were first introduced to the M range of products, we thought the one sounded like it could be a useful addition to our kit, as commercial window cleaners. We ordered a small bottle- ‘‘just in case…’’ and now we find it is indispensable!

Ian decided to try it out on the windows of one of the major stores that we clean. The panes of glass are 10 feet tall by 5 feet wide and had been replaced 3 months earlier. The glazing engineers had used a yellow waxy marker to note the installation position of the glass. Plate glass of this kind is cleaned using an extending pole. Ian poured the one onto a clean applicator on top of the pole and rubbed it lightly over the markings. Immediately it disappeared! Despite being cleaned weekly, the usual detergent had not been able to remove the marks, nor had using a ‘‘porcupine’’ – which is a fluffy applicator that incorporates nylon bristles. A scraper was no use as the marks were too high up to apply a good pressure to the top of the pole. The store staff, who were watching the process, were amazed and also noticed the clean, fresh smell!!

We have gone on to test it out on anything we can find and it has not failed yet: marker pen graffiti on windows, gloss paint on shop signs, metallic paint on windows, diesel exhaust stains on a white trailer and (my favourite) rust stains on vinyl flooring, from storing old paint tins.
